Sebastian is a 1 year old American Staffordshire Terrier mix who was found by a Barrio Dogs volunteer. The day he was found, Sebastian was homeless, emaciated and suffering from a multitude of medical problems including rectal prolapse, Demodex mange, intestinal worms, heartworms and ear infections.
Although Barrio Dogs is not a rescue group, we could not turn a blind eye to Sebastian’s suffering. We took him in and saw to it that he got the medical care, nutrition and attention that he so desperately needed. After multiple surgical procedures, critical care nursing and lots of love, Sebastian began to get his life back.
Today Sebastian is the most handsome, well-mannered boy you have ever met, living in his forever home in the beautiful Texas Hill Country with his dad, Davis.
Pancho is a 3 year old Dachshund-Chihuahua mix who was adopted from the LaPorte Animal Shelter by the Cedillo family. He recently began experiencing pain in his lower back which resulted in his not being able to walk or even hold himself up for any length of time. When Pancho’s family vet suggested a visit to the neurologist and an MRI, his family reached out to Barrio Dogs for financial assistance with this very costly testing.
It was quickly determined that Pancho had a ruptured disc and needed immediate surgery to have any chance at living a normal, pain-free life. Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we were able to sponsor Pancho’s surgery and post-operative care.
Today, Pancho is back home with his loving family, fully mobile and pain free!
