Our Core Programs

At Barrio Dogs, we believe in a holistic approach to animal welfare, which is why we’ve developed three core programs designed to create a brighter future for pets and our community.

Our Youth & Paws program is more than just animal interaction; it’s an investment in the next generation. By engaging young people, we foster empathy, responsibility, and a deep understanding of animal care. This program empowers youth to become compassionate leaders and advocates, ensuring a brighter future for both pets and our community.

Barrio Dog Education Teaching Proper Pet Care To Our Community

The FixIt program directly tackles animal overpopulation through accessible spay/neuter services. But we don’t stop there. We also educate pet owners on responsible pet care, including the importance of sterilization, proper nutrition, and preventative veterinary visits. This comprehensive approach helps reduce the number of homeless animals and promotes healthier, happier pets within our neighborhoods.

Our Neighborhood Advocates program empowers residents to become champions for animal welfare in their own communities. We provide essential knowledge about animal welfare ordinances and state bills, equipping advocates with the tools to understand and navigate local regulations. More importantly, we teach them how to be effective voices for the voiceless, advocating for the well-being of community pets and fostering a more humane environment for all.
